My first born son has always charmed the hearts of everyone he met! With his squeezable cheeks and red hair, he was hard to resist. I always loved having a tall red head for a child...so easy to pick out in a crowd. David always shows extreme passion for whatever he is into. As a toddler it was "mabowbows" (lawn mowers)...he would sit in quiet concentration and watch his grandpa mow the lawn. Then it turned into cars, motorcycles, and trains. He was never seen without a toy automobile in his hand or heard without making a motor noise of some kind. Now, that he has grown into a young man, his passion is drumming in the marching band at school, and I couldn't be more proud! He approaches this passion with the same dedication, and focus as he did as a young child! Motor noises have been replaced with drumming....on everything...and it's music to my ears!
I have always said raising David was dummy proof...he seems to have been born with a strong sense of right from wrong! Lucky for this momma, he has carried this trait into his teens. His convictions are strong and unflappable, his strong loyalty to friends and loved ones is unbreakable, and his dedication to being the best David he can be is admirable!
I know he feels neglected and taken for granted sometimes with being the oldest of our bunch, but he has always and will always be my first baby and will always hold a special place in my heart!!
Handsome young man!!
I have tears in my eyes after reading your great tribute to an outstanding young man. David has always been so lovable and so loving. I sometimes wish that he could be a baby again so I could watch him grow up one more time. I am thinking today of how he looked when he would stare lovingly and deeply into my eyes when I would rock him and sing to him when he was a baby. Love him so much and love the handsome, dedicated and loving young man he has become.
